In 2014, Henry Schein Cares, the global corporate social responsibility program of Henry Schein, Inc., launched a new international outreach program at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Under a newly named, co-branded program, The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program, dental students have the opportunity to participate in mission trips around the world, providing complimentary oral health care education and assisting with screenings and treatment for the underserved.
Henry Schein Cares has been a long-term supporter of the NYU College of Dentistry Henry Schein Cares Global Student Outreach Program; 2014 marked the sixth year of support for this outreach program, which provides oral health care education, emergency dental services, screenings, prevention, sealant application, and restorative treatment to underserved communities throughout the United States and around the world.
Henry Schein Cares donates all of the dental supplies for each mission of these global student outreach programs, and the respective universities contribute the administration, coordination, and the time and effort of the volunteers who provide care, including faculty and resident students as well as dentistry and dental hygiene students.
In addition to its support of student outreach programs at NYU and University of the Pacific, Henry Schein Cares donations support student programs at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in New York, Kings College London Dental Institute, Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, and the University of Otago in New Zealand.
