The usual path for a dental school graduate is to become an associate partner of an existing practice to gain experience before opening his or her own office. Dr. Melina Cozby knew this was an option but she had bigger plans. While still in school, she met with Henry Schein Equipment Sales Specialist Matt Zolfo to map out a plan and come up with a budget. Funding this new start-up was challenging, but with help of family and friends, she was able to open “phase one” of her practice with two fully-equipped operatories and four plumbed for future use.
The planning paid off because within four months, all six operatories were being used and there was a need for even more space. With the timing right to expand the office, the dental office design of the new Forney Family Dentistry featured all the aspects Dr. Cozby had in mind for her dream office. This included everything from a soft and calming décor to versatile operatories and a state-of-the-art sterilization center.
What Dr. Cozby had at the end of the renovation was an office that allowed to her to offer the high-level of patient care she always wanted to achieve. To see pictures and read more about her story, read the article Expanding Compassionate Patient Care.
