CORNERSTONE DENTAL GROUP…Built With The Future In Mind

There are times when a series of negatives add up to a very big positive. This was especially true for Dr. Ron Solomon's new practice, Cornerstone Dental Group, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. An expiring lease; high maintenance out-of-date equipment; inability to use space efficiently; a declining business district, and a general lackluster office environment were a few of the factors that led Dr. Solomon to focus on a new start for his practice, staff, and patients.

“I wanted to build something for the future of the practice…for future partners…[and] for continual growth,” notes Dr. Solomon. “Our patients [also] benefit from the new environment…[and] the latest technology…ultimately, it’s for their improved dental health,” he adds.

Dr. Solomon had worked successfully with Sullivan-Schein for years and decided to turn to them for assistance during this very important project. Scott Gorsuch, Equipment Sales Specialist; John McMullen, Field Sales Consultant; Diane Stacey, Design Consultant; and Equipment Service Technicians, Doug Cavicchioni and Doug Lonneman provided the support and resources to keep the project on track. Sullivan-Schein’s specialists developed the initial layout design while staying in close touch with the architect, contractor and interior designer, then proceeded to advise the Doctor on equipment selection, ensuring that the office was well equipped with technology that would give Cornerstone Dental Group the leading edge to compete in the future. “[And], they held my hand through the [entire] process!” adds Dr. Solomon.

The result was a new office in a new building—the best of all possible worlds! “The office complex…was the perfect location for me,” comments Dr. Solomon. The office’s 7 operatories, consultation rooms, sterilization center, and reception area are opportunely defined in the 3,200 square feet that is Cornerstone Dental Group’s new home. Its contemporary charm is evident from the minute you enter the premises. The effective use of color and texture in the reception area make you want to relax and stay awhile. Soft, rich earth tones mix artistically with the clean, slightly contoured styling of the furniture, creating a warm and restive introduction to the office.

Equipment choices included Pelton & Crane’s Rear Delivery Operatory System and Spirit 3000 Operatory chairs, Caseworx cabinetry, Corian countertops, Hydrim instrument washer, ScanX Digital X-ray, and Air Techniques’ intraoral cameras. Cornerstone’s operatory cabinetry configurations were constructed in the “open bay” fashion, allowing a highly efficient use of space and aiding a more streamlined traffic flow during daily activities. Cornerstone Dental Group is well positioned for a successful future. Its staff of 8 can practice dentistry with greater confidence—and look forward to growing to meet patient and business needs more effectively because of the office’s dynamic design and impressive array of current technologies. Dr. Solomon’s insights on such a project offer valuable advice for all professionals seeking a similar upgrade—“Have a dream and a goal…be patient and have a sense of humor…build for the future…[and] don’t be afraid of change.”

Staff comments on the new office range from “Love it” to “How can you not like coming to work at one of the nicest offices in the area!” Add that to patients’ comments—“Wow…It’s like the Ritz…You must love coming to work…This is cool!”—and you can easily see why Cornerstone Dental Group gets a hearty “two thumbs up” from all!
